Over time, an excessive fragmentation of the hard disk files can cause the computer to gradually slow down. To avoid this, it is advisable to defragment the hard disk every now and again. The frequency can vary depending on how much the computer is used.
It is advisable to defragment the disk after having performed a file clean-up to remove all the unnecessary files that might have accumulated.
Follow these steps to defragment the disk:
In the main window, click the Optimization icon on the Toolbar.
In the Defragment section, click Defragment to start the process.
A message is displayed when the process is complete. Click Finish.
Important note: The defragmentation process takes hours, and should
be performed when the computer is not
in use.
